Washington, DC (June 4) – ACTION Global Health Advocacy Partnership applauds world leaders for significant new financial commitments that will help deliver more than 3.2 billion doses of life-saving vaccines to reach 300 million children by 2025. In the lead up to and during the virtual Global Vaccines Summit, world leaders committed a total of US$8.8 billion in new resources over the next five years to Gavi, a global vaccine alliance bringing together public and private sectors with the shared goal of creating equal access to vaccines for children living in the world's poorest countries. Gavi support has contributed to the immunization of over 760 million children since their inception in 2000, including 198 million children between 2016 and 2018.

(Nov. 7, 2017)—Malnutrition, a condition caused by lack of food or insufficient amounts of the nutrients the body needs, is a reality for hundreds of millions of people globally and a growing threat to meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, according to the 2017 Global Nutrition Report (GNR).

Washington, D.C. (Sept. 14, 2017) – While at least 24 developing countries are at risk of losing funding from multiple multilateral institutions for key health programs simultaneously in the next five years, government and key stakeholders either do not believe or are not aware that these transitions are likely to take place. Additionally, despite their individual transition policies, there is little evidence of serious efforts by institutions like Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance; the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria; the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI); or the World Bank, to tackle the multiplier effect of simultaneous transitions in a coordinated way.

Washington, D.C. (May 26) – ACTION global health advocacy partnership is calling on G7 leaders to invest more in efforts to eradicate tuberculosis (TB) and polio, end malnutrition, and promote universal health coverage. Citing diseases of poverty, lack of proper nutrients—particularly in the first 1000 days of life—and the inability to access proper healthcare by the world’s poorest people, as the greatest barriers to human development and global prosperity, the group is demanding action from the leaders of the world’s largest economies, meeting in Taormina, Italy, May 26–27.

ACTION celebrates the release of the first-ever Global Nutrition Report as a key step forward in efforts to improve data and accountability in the global fight against undernutrition.

The ACTION global health advocacy partnership has released an update to its Donor Immunization Record, revealing an impressive global accountability picture on child vaccines: 14 out of 17 major donors have delivered on their commitments to the GAVI Alliance.

In January 2013, the ACTION partnership launched a dynamic advocacy campaign against undernutrition, focusing efforts on the June 8th Nutrition for Growth (N4G) summit held in London, England.
